Our Plan (In Short)
Empire Adventures is working hard on a 5-year plan to bring back Fantasy Island, a defunct amusement park located on Grand Island, NY.
Fantasy Island originally opened on July 1st, 1961, as a 12-acre, children's oriented theme park. An expansion in the 1970's made the park a reputable 75-acre summertime tradition that was enjoyed by millions of Western New York residents and tourists for years to come. But sadly, after a long roller-coaster ride that had many highs and lows, Fantasy Island closed for good in February 2020 ... so they say.
Our initial plans to reimagine, revitalize, and reopen Fantasy Island are laid out in the table below:
Phase 1 (2020)
Once things are set in stone, we plan on using the rest of 2020 to make necessary beautification efforts to park grounds, such as cleaning up the mess left by previous management.
In addition, we also plan on bringing in the initial line-up of new rides and attractions that would open with the park come the summer of 2021.
Phase 2 (2021)
We intend to reopen Fantasy Island in time for the summer of 2021. Our initial line-up of attractions will include the park's famous wooden roller coaster, the Silver Comet, along with a wide selection of kids, family, and thrill rides.
Popular Fantasy Island amenities, such as free parking and the ability to bring your own food and drinks into the park, would rightfully return.
Phase 3 (2022+)
As proven successful throughout the amusement park industry, we intend to introduce new rides and attractions on an annual basis, eventually transforming Fantasy Island into a world-class regional attraction.
With Empire Adventures, you can be confident that Fantasy Island will always remain focused on providing a safe, quality, and family-friendly day of "Fun? WOW!"

Bill Baldwin suddenly walked from an interview with tears welling in his eyes.
He stepped away from the window of the BrickOven Pizzeria & Pub on Grand Island Boulevard, across from Fantasy Island, early last Sunday evening after watching nearly 40 people climb the fence and wander onto the grounds and vandalize the park he and his business associates love so much.

Empire Adventures feeling love from GoFundMe looking to help Fantasy Island
GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW) — Earlier this week, the group seeking to save Fantasy Island saw its website go down. But it wasn't an intentional shutdown; it was from the sheer number of clicks that Empire Adventures got right away.
"Within two hours, we had over 40,000 hits on the website, which just completely blew up," Empire Adventures CEO Bill Baldwin said. "We had to refurbish everything because we weren't expecting that much of a hit that quickly."
New owners for Fantasy Island?
GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW) — There is new hope that fun could soon be returning to Fantasy Island. But despite a glimpse at the possible future, plans for reviving the park remain unclear.
"I know they were trying to purchase the property and if they weren't successful with the purchase they were working on obtaining a lease for the property, so hopefully they'll be able to be successful," said John Whitney, Grand Island Town Supervisor.
